My
Approach

A Collaborative and Compassionate Space

  • We start where you are

Each session is shaped around your needs. You don’t need to have a clear goal to begin just a willingness to be curious about what’s coming up.

  • You set the pace

Whether you're ready to dive deep or just starting to explore things, we’ll move in a way that feels manageable and supportive.

  • A balance of reflection and tools

We might explore your current challenges, past experiences, and the stories you’ve come to believe about yourself while also developing practical tools to support you day to day.

  • Tailored to you

There’s no one-size-fits-all approach here. Together, we’ll shape a way of working that suits you and evolves over time.

  • Therapeutic Influences

My work is grounded in [list the modalities you draw from e.g., person-centred, psychodynamic, integrative, CBT-informed, etc.]. This means I draw from different therapeutic approaches, adapting them to best support where you are.

  • A Focus on Relationship

The relationship between therapist and client is at the heart of effective therapy. I prioritise creating a space where you feel seen, heard, and supported a foundation we can build on to explore whatever you’re carrying.

 FAQs

It’s completely natural to feel unsure or curious before starting therapy. Below are some common questions to help you feel more informed and at ease.

  • The first session is a chance for us to get to know each other. We’ll explore what’s brought you to therapy, what you're hoping for, and how I can best support you. There’s no pressure to share anything you're not ready to.

  • Not at all. Some people come with specific issues, while others just feel something’s not quite right. Wherever you are, we can begin there and let the goals unfold naturally.

  • Most clients come weekly at the same time, which helps create a consistent rhythm. But we can talk about what works best for you.

  • Therapy is different for everyone. Some people come for short-term support, while others prefer ongoing work. We’ll check in regularly to see how things are going and what feels right for you.

  • Yes, confidentiality is a core part of therapy. What you share stays between us, with a few legal exceptions we’ll go over in our first session.

  • I'm a relational integrative counsellor, which means I draw from a range of therapeutic approaches to suit your unique needs. At the heart of my work is a warm, supportive relationship, where you feel seen, heard, and accepted as you are.

  • Many people find counselling to be a valuable and a life-changing experience. While it’s not a quick fix, it can help you understand yourself deeply, build healthier ways of coping, and make meaningful changes over time. The process is different for everyone, and what you take from it will depend on your goals, readiness to explore and commitment to the process.

  • That really depends on what feels right for you. Some people find in-person sessions more grounding and connected, while others prefer the flexibility and comfort of talking from home. I offer both options so you can choose what works best and you’re welcome to switch if your needs change.

  • No everything you share in our sessions is confidential and private. I don’t contact your GP and I don’t take their details so there’s nothing to worry about

  • Absolutely. You're welcome to see how the process feels for you before making any long-term commitment. The initial session is free, giving you a chance to ask questions, get a sense of how I work, and decide whether it feels like a good fit. There's no pressure to continue unless it feels right for you.
