A Little About Me
Hi, I’m Jen, an integrative counsellor working within the BACP Ethical Framework, offering a real, down-to-earth space where you can explore what’s going on for you at your pace, in your own way. I understand that starting therapy can feel a bit daunting, especially if you’re not sure where to begin or what to expect. That’s completely okay. There’s no right or wrong way to show up here. Whether you want to talk about the past, what’s happening now, or just figure out why you feel the way you do, we’ll work together to make sense of it.
How I Work
I use an integrative approach, which means I draw on different types of therapy depending on what suits you best, this could include Person-Centred Therapy, CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy), Transactional Analysis, or Psychodynamic approaches. Sometimes we’ll stick to one, other times we’ll blend a few, but always in a way that’s tailored to you. This flexibility allows us to take things one step at a time, I don’t rush and I won’t overload you with techniques or psychoeducation unless it feels helpful and right for you.
What Therapy with Me Looks Like
Our sessions are a safe, confidential space where you’re free to be yourself without judgment. I aim to offer warmth, authenticity, and a genuine relationship where you feel heard and respected. Most sessions begin with a person-centred foundation, giving you space to talk openly, and from there we might explore other tools to gently challenge patterns or help you see things from new angles, especially if you’re feeling stuck or overwhelmed. Every 6–8 weeks, we’ll pause to check in and reflect together on how things are going this is your space, and your feedback matters.
A Real, Two-Way Relationship
Although therapy is focused on you, you won’t be speaking into a void. I bring myself into the room too genuinely and appropriately because I believe healing happens in real, human connection. That said, we’ll always move at a pace that feels right for you. If you’re feeling nervous about opening up or worried about getting emotional, that’s completely okay. We’ll take it one step at a time, and I’ll be alongside you as we work through whatever you bring thoughts, emotions, even things you don’t yet have words for. If at any point you’re not feeling a connection with me or the work, I truly welcome you saying so. It’s not only okay it’s important.
